Mt. Washington Revelation - White Mountain National Forest and Northern New Hampshire
Later during this mid-September hike while descending the Boott Spur Trail, the clouds broke apart into spectacular formations to reveal the Mount Washington summit and waterfalls in Tuckerman Ravine. A haze lingered in the air creating a natural soft focus effect. The early orange fall foliage of high elevation birch trees can be seen creeping up the ravines. Autumn also already taken hold of the alpine tundra in the foreground.
