Moonrise in Pondicherry - White Mountain National Forest and Northern New Hampshire
A beautiful mid-November full moonrise occurred at the same time as sunset. Cherry Pond is in the foreground, and is frozen over but snowless, allowing light to reflect off of it. It is easy to see why Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1974 by the National Park Service.
