Cadillac Mountain Sunrise - Maine
Acadia National Park. The first light in the national park system, and arguably the continental U.S. floods the glacially striated ledges of Cadillac Mountain 1528' as the sun rises over Frenchman Bay and its islands. Dorr Mountain 1265' is visible in the foreground and the gorge between the two mountains. "Purple mountain majesty" was in my mind as the first light ledges turned the ledges just that.
