Alone in Time - Utah

In 1800 there were approximately 60 million buffalo roaming the plains and American West. By 1890 there were only 1000 left due to wanton overhunting. I was struck by this isolated bison on the open plain with a rainstorm behind him and the image of a time gone by. To be honest this was a bison farm I drove past about 15 miles outside the east entrance to Zion National Park so its not technically wild. Still, it was a chance sighting that led me to pull over and the symbolism struck me immediately.
