The forest in the upper elevations of the White Mountain National Forest is a magical wonderland. Frequently moisture in the air freezes on contact with trees or rocks, creating rime ice crystals and feathers that grow out in the direction the wind is coming from. I spent a day just photographing the beautiful compositions up there.
