Ice Galaxy Jordan Pond

Acadia has some deep glacially carved lakes/ponds that freeze solid. I showed up at one for sunset but the sky was a bust, totally clear, so I decided to walk out on the pond and examine the areas where the wind had blown the snow clear. I was delighted to see the tiny bubbles frozen in the ice that to me looked like the stars in the night sky and steaks like galaxies. The light was perfect, these ice patches were in the shade catching reflected alpenglow light off the nearby mountains making the ice bubbles stars pop.
