Small Scenes in Acadia: Fall on the Ground of the High Ridges

I continue to try and work on my long term “Small Scenes in Acadia” project each time I visit. These grass-like plants are found a lot on the ridges on Cadillac and Sargent mountains and in my mind are a distinguishing feature of these “desert” lands for which Mount Desert Island was named. Whatever they are, I really liked this composition with the reds of the blueberry bushes to contrast against the yellowing grassy plant. I took a very slow-paced stroll on the high ridges on a day when they were going in out of summit fog being hit by strong winds. I was lucky this patch was in a wind protected depression.
