April

Barred Owl, Florida. Barred Owls are pretty active in April amidst nesting season. I see them often at home in New Hampshire, there still aren’t any leaves on the trees. So, no matter how nice an encounter, I usually get a bunch of sticks and white sky in the background of the shot. This past spring, I spent a few weeks in Florida, and was lucky enough to find 3 barred owls in beautiful, lush Florida woods with Spanish moss and palms. I loved the difference in background for photos! Once again, Florida spoils when it comes to birding and bird photography.
