"I have a secret." New Hampshire. This expression and body language seemed just like children telling a secret behind their mother's back. I captured this moment of the only successful loon chicks I followed this year. It was one of my favorite images I made this year. Early July is peak time for newly hatched loon chicks on the ponds. They will ride their parents backs for the first 2 weeks or so for protection and thermoregulation.
