Winter’s Stories

Winter in Northern New England is cold, snowy, and generally kind of rough. But for the photographer it simplifies the landscape and adds a drama to wildlife images. We actually get some cool birds that migrate to us for the winter because it is south of their usual habitat, like snowy owls, short eared owl, and a variety of waterfowl. I love the photography this time of year, but not the numb fingers and nosebleeds. Here are the fruits of my explorations.
