Glacial Striations at Sunset - Acadia National Park, Maine

The pink granite at Acadia National Park looks particularly striking at sunset. The grooves in the rock are evidence of that glaciers once scoured the mountains at Acadia National Park. This photo was taken a short distance off of South Ridge Trail on 1528' Cadillac Mountain, the highest mountain on the Atlantic Coast north of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Cranberry Islands in the Atlantic Ocean are visible in the distance.
